Is it official? Today various news outlets are reporting that actress Liv Tyler has signed on to play Bettie Page.

These news reports seem to derive their information from a NY POST Page Six item from several days ago.

In that article, producer Mark Mori says: "Liv Tyler is still attached, and she's more enthusiastic than ever." Unfortunately, that doesn't mean the project has moved forward. Mori continues: "When I first met her, Liv told me, 'I was born to play Bettie Page.' Right now, we're trying to develop a script. We may have a major announcement to make about a script very soon."

Translation: The project may still be in development/script hell.

What's interesting is that Bettie bio-pic producer Mark Mori and co-producer James Swanson have both been the source of controversy with regards to their business relationships with Bettie Page and the rights to her life story. This includes a lawsuit involving Bettie's current management company, CMG Worldwide.

Papericons is auctioning off several original Bettie Page Photos on eBay. These are from the infamous "Private Peeks" collection - many are one-of-a-kind photographs, as many Klaw photo negatives of Bettie have been destroyed (see Bettie Page FAQ).
