It appears HBO has contacted Bettie Page model and screenwriter Linda Burk to audition for the part of Bettie Page in the upcoming bio-pic The Ballad of Bettie Page. The film has been in development (hell) for some time.

The HBO project is joined by two other independent films in covering the life of Bettie Page: Cult Epics is premiering their indie feature Bettie Page Dark Angel at the San Francisco Independant Film Festival on Feburary 11th and 15th, 2004. The movie stars fetish model Paige Richards, who bears a striking resemblence to the pin-up queen. The other film, Bettie Page: Uncensored based on the Chicago area play of the same name, was recently released on DVD and is available through Amazon.com.
